SportAI Open Beta is live: AI-powered technique analysis for coaches and players in tennis, padel and pickleball

Oslo, Norway - 10 September 2026:

Every coach knows the problem at the heart of technique work. A stroke happens in a fraction of a second  — the grip, the take-back, the contact point, the follow-through — and the coach is reading all of it in real time, often while feeding balls from the other side of the net. You catch a lot. But no one catches everything at full speed, on every swing, for every player.

And your players feel the other side of that gap: they can sense something in their backhand isn't right, or that the bandeja keeps coming out flat — but they can't see themselves swing, and feeling a flaw is not the same as knowing what it is.

Today, we're closing that gap from both ends.

SportAI Open is now in Open Beta — a web app that delivers instant AI-powered technique analysis for tennis, padel and pickleball. Upload a video of a player hitting, and within minutes you get a breakdown of their technique, training tips and personalized recommendations built on the same computer vision technology we've developed for clubs, academies and broadcasters worldwide.

Why we built SportAI Open

Technique analysis isn't new to coaching — but until now it's been a luxury. Elite academies have video analysts on staff and biomechanics tools in the training hall. For everyone else, proper stroke analysis means filming a player, then spending evenings stepping through footage frame by frame — so it only happens for the one or two players you can dedicate that time to. The rest develop their technique on what you managed to catch live.

Players face the same access problem from below: detailed feedback on their strokes has existed for decades, but only for those with the budget for performance labs and full-time coaching setups.

We don't think insight into a player's technique should depend on staff size or budget. SportAI was founded to democratize access to sports analysis, and SportAI Open is the most direct expression of that mission yet: the technology that powers professional analysis, now available to any coach or player with a phone and a court.

How it works

Getting started takes a few minutes:

  1. Sign in at open.sportai.com with your Google, Apple or email account — no waitlist, no special access link.
  2. Add footage. Upload a video from a phone, camera or computer, or record directly in the web app with a mobile device.
  3. Get the analysis. SportAI breaks down the strokes on screen and returns technique insights, training tips and recommendations tailored to what it sees in that player's swing — not generic advice.

That's it. No wearables, no sensors, no setup. If you can film a player hitting, you can analyze their technique.

An extra set of eyes for your coaching

SportAI Open doesn't replace your judgment — it gives you more raw material to apply it to, across more players, in less time.

Run a player's footage through the analysis to see what's happening in their strokes without stepping through video frame by frame yourself. Or flip the workflow: have your players film themselves between sessions and upload it, so they arrive at their next lesson with an AI-generated starting point — and your court time goes into correcting the technique instead of diagnosing it.

For players training without regular coaching, the same analysis works as objective feedback between sessions, so their practice targets the right things in their swing.

And everyone gets a say in the product. SportAI Open is under active development, and feedback from beta users — coaches especially — directly drives what we build next. We'd rather build this together with the people who live on court than behind closed doors.

What's next

The Open Beta is just the starting line. Our roadmap includes deeper analysis across more shot types, progress tracking over time, and dedicated tools for coaches working with multiple players. Beta users will be the first to try each of them.

If you coach tennis, padel or pickleball — or play them yourself — we'd love to have you on court with us.
